Puerta Abierta Preschool is an early childhood education Spanish immersion program in the Chicagoland area.
Our school is designed to encourage bilingual language development and multiculturalism through a play-based curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education. We have a commitment to community involvement across cultures.
Instruction is totally in Spanish, and the student body is comprised of a mix of native Spanish and English speakers, as well as children from mixed families. These emergent bilingual children work together to acquire or better develop Spanish at an early age. This dual-language population promotes bilingual language acquisition, because children have each other as language models in addition to their teachers.
